Opening Ceremony

The ICEMT 2025 International Conference officially kicked off on July 29, 2025, in Osaka. The opening ceremony featured an inspiring address by Prof. Xabier Basogain from the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, Spain. Prof. Basogain emphasized the transformative potential of technology in education, stressing how digital tools and emerging technologies are reshaping the way we teach and learn. He spoke about the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in addressing the challenges of modern education and shared his excitement for the discussions and exchanges that the conference would foster. Prof. Basogain concluded with a call to action, urging attendees to work together to leverage the power of technology for creating a more inclusive and effective educational future.

Keynote Speakers




Prof. Kuan-Chou Chen (Purdue University Northwest, USA)
Speech Title: Using Systems Thinking Approach for Improving Data Analytics Practice
Prof. Chen's keynote addressed how a systems thinking approach can enhance data analytics practices, especially in the educational context. His presentation focused on the effective utilization and management of educational data to make more precise and actionable decisions.

Prof. Juan Carlos Olabe (Christian Brothers University, USA)
Speech Title: Modern Education with a Computational Model of the Mind
Prof. Olabe explored the role of computational models in modern education, demonstrating how understanding the brain's computational processes can help design educational methods that align with cognitive principles, paving the way for more personalized learning.

Prof. Mario Barajas (University of Barcelona, Spain)
Speech Title: Building Digital Creative Capacities in Higher Education: Outcomes of The Docent Project
Prof. Barajas showcased the “Docent Project,” which aims to foster digital creativity within higher education. His presentation highlighted how digital tools can enhance creativity and how this can lead to transformative changes in higher education.

Assoc. Prof. Nailya Nurieva (Bauman Moscow Technical University, Russia)
Speech Title: The Author's World Picture in Children's Stories by Roald Dahl as an Aspect of Cognitive Linguistics
Assoc. Prof. Nurieva discussed how Roald Dahl’s children's stories offer insights into the author's worldview through the lens of cognitive linguistics. This talk provided a unique perspective on how language can shape children’s understanding of the world.

Prof. Sergey Avrutin (Utrecht University, The Netherlands)
Speech Title: Wave Interference, Entropy and the Speech Production / Comprehension Asymmetry
Prof. Avrutin delved into the relationship between wave interference, entropy, and the asymmetry between speech production and comprehension. His groundbreaking research introduced new theories in language cognition, expanding the boundaries of educational psychology and cognitive science.

Speech Title: Making of - Successfully Planning and Implementing Peer-to-Peer Lecture Films
